There are many ways to support the Children’s BookFest from individual donations and sponsorship to volunteering.

Support us

It is our mission to ensure that every child we reach will receive a new book signed by the author. Children’s BookFest is a charity which relies on the generosity of all its supporters to raise 100% of its annual costs.

A small gift can make a huge difference to the Children’s BookFest, the benefits to our children and grandchildren are wide-ranging. It is our aim this year to reach 6000 children and young people across Chichester and Bognor.

Donations

Every penny donated to the Children’s BookFest gets us closer to our aim of providing every child in West Sussex with their very own book. For as little as £5 you can help guarantee a child will have the opportunity to be inspired and get reading.

Volunteers

There are other ways to help out too. You could be an author or illustrator, a teacher or a fellow book enthusiast looking to help inspire the next generation to become passionate readers. Please get in touch to find out more.

Become a friend

Our Friends are special people who care about children's life chances, and want to help us to reach more children in more schools.

Our Friends give regular donations of £10 a month, which allows us to buy books for our in-school BookFests, our local Food Banks and our Outreach work.

Our Friends receive:

  • priority booking for our ticketed events

  • regular updates about the difference their donations are making

  • acknowledgement on our website

Leave a legacy

A gift in your will, however large or small, will help us in our aim of providing every child in West Sussex with their very own book. The benefits of reading are wide-ranging. We are committed to encouraging children to read books, opening minds and developing their imagination, which is fundamental for creativity. Leaving a gift in your will is one of the most lasting ways of benefitting our children and grandchildren.

By leaving 10% or more of 'net value' of your estate to charity, the rate of Inheritance Tax applicable to the rest of your estate is reduced to 36%. Therefore, by giving to Children's BookFest you could benefit your beneficiaries as well.

'My life has been fulfilled by my love of books and reading. Leaving a gift in my will is my way of supporting children and encouraging them to love books in the same way.' CBF Supporter

A will is very personal and we advise you to seek professional advice when drafting a new will or updating an existing one. This ensures that you receive confidential guidance and your will is tailored to your particular circumstances.
